For me the monotype process has a very tactile quality that lends itself to the painter more so than any of the other printmaking disciplines. I enjoy the way the image is infused with marks in a quasi controlled manner. The accidents and incidents in the process add nature's chaos to each prints pass. Another important factor for me is Immediacy, the quickness at which layers can be built and ideas can cross-pollinate to develop interesting image evolutions.
