My approach to drawing is to find the image quickly and without criticism. It's really about allowing the image to come about without the need to question its validity or purpose. These drawings are quick studies of autonomous ideas and imagery. When I'm drawing it's usually under a time restrained moment and I need to find the image with spontaneity. This enforces the drawings immediate and raw quality. I find that when I'm working in this 'moment', I can assert my stream of consciousness effectively. The drawing process also acts as an idea repository to further explore the imagery in painting and printmaking.
